COMMUNITY BUILDING & SUSTAINABILITY

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

EQUITY

These are broad categories on purpose, as we rely on the applicant to provide insights on what this means for their programs and mission. We are here to build community and learn. This includes broadening traditional categorizations of the “work.”

The Unbound Giving Fund will officially launch in January 2021. Grants will be between $5,000 – $20,000..

SUPPORTING MOVEMENT BUILDING

We are excited to announce that as part of our Black Philanthropy Month series, several individuals and institutions have pledged to support movement building, advocacy, and activism on the ground. These funds are for immediate release and will be distributed starting in September 2020.

The goal is to raise $25,000 for this initiative and provide five organizations with $5,000 grants.

We will also look to our donor partners to suggest the organizations for these grants. We have already received commitments from Cheryl L. Dorsey, Marcus Walton of Grantmakers for Effective Organizations, and Emmet Pierson, Jr. of Community Builders of Kansas City.
